Sunday July 12th - All Coed & Mens softball games are now canceled.

With everything gearing up we did want to cover the Covid precautions and rules put in place...please keep in mind, everything is fluid so these can even change on the fly.

1. First and foremost, please respect the rules put in place. Our league has players from every race, political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, etc. We ALL have different beliefs. This will only take ONE person for every league to be in jeopardy so please, no statements made in regards to these rules. We're simply following what's put in place so we can try and have some fun this summer!
2. If you're involved IN the game, you're not required to wear a mask but as you're arriving please keep one on from your car to the bench area. Benches may not be in place this year, so please try and social distance as best as possible on your bench area.
3. No loitering around in the parking areas before or after games. Wait in or around your cars until the previous game ends. After the game, head over to your bench area and congratulate the other team from there....No handshake lines. When the game is over you must leave the park. We have to limit interaction as much as we can.
4. No spectators for games are encouraged but we understand that it’s not possible in all cases. So we ask that you limit the spectators to as little as possible per team. (2 per team is ideal) They must be in masks and have to be socially distanced. If they are kids please keep an eye on them, keep them socially distanced but also not running all over the park.
5. There more than likely won't be any public restrooms this year. So please come prepared.
6. Some Hand sanitizer will be provided. Please use after plays made in the field at the end of the inning or stoppages in play. Please feel free to bring your own hand sanitizer also.
8. If you’re sick, stay home. If your spectators are kids please keep an eye on them and make sure they are social distancing as well.

Thank you everyone for remaining patient and we hope this fuels a fun competitive season.

Flag Football is now scheduled to begin Sunday July 26th and we will be at the kickball park. Flag Football registration will now close on the 19th. Rosters close on the 23rd.

*When we do return there will most likely be some social distancing guidelines we have to follow. (Limited spectators and public bathrooms will be closed off) As more details become more clear we will communicate them.

**Board 38 IAABO have suspended officiating due to COVID-19 concerns, therefore all basketball leagues are suspended until further notice. As soon as Gyms open back up and we are able to resume the leagues we will pick up where we left off. (Possibly late July)

We here at the Syracuse Sports Association have brought a fresh new twist to the Utica adult recreational sports scene. Kickball... yes, just like you played in 5th grade, is a game that closes the age and gender gap.

This great playground pastime is no longer a past time and a game you played in your back yard growing up! Kickball is back with a vengeance for adults 18 and older to enjoy nearly any night of the week! Since our official creation in late 2010 we have grown by leaps and bounds even surprising ourselves at times with the awesome size of our leagues! Our goal is simple HAVE FUN first, win or lose second.  We are firm believers that there are plenty of times to be serious and worry about the little things in life.  THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE TIMES. We encourage good sportsmanship, Team comradery, rivalries, cheering and general FUN! If you are that individual looking to for an extremely competitive sport than our kickball leagues may not be for you. But if you are that individual looking for that way to break up the BORING work week, get out enjoy some great friends and kick a big rubber ball around then WE WANT YOU!

Remember and we can’t stress this enough, the idea behind kickball - past and present - good sportsmanship, have fun first and win second. I mean Win or lose, what's better than being outside and having fun with friends? And, the upside (Not like you really needed any more) of kickball for grown-ups is the chance to go to a local sponsor bar after the game, socialize and hang out.

Lastly, we want to thank everyone for playing, without everyone’s shared excitement for this game SSA would not exist and we wouldn’t be having all this awesome fun!  Please feel free to contact us anytime with any questions you may have! Good Luck on the fields and once again THANK YOU for playing!
