SSA Men's 5-on-5 Basketball League
Location: Legacy Gym (formerly St. Matthew's Church) in East Syracuse

🏀 About the League:
Welcome to the court, gentlemen! The Syracuse Sports Association is proud to present the Men's 5-on-5 Basketball League, exclusively tailored for the fine gents over 40. Show 'em that experience always trumps youth at the historic Legacy Gym in East Syracuse!
Team Details:
Roster Requirements: Your dream team should consist of a minimum of 5 players, maxing out at 10. Only players on your online roster are eligible to play or sub.
Uniforms: Gear up, ballers! Team shirts with numbers are mandatory. Feel free to sport your own, or grab them from our SSA store. Don't forget to declare your team color during registration.
Referee Fees: Each game requires a $55.00 fee per team, payable directly to the scorekeeper prior to tip-off.
Gameplay: Each game boasts two 20-minute halves, with the clock taking a breather under one minute in the first half and two minutes in the second.
League Logistics:
Stay updated! Our online platform provides weekly score and standings refreshers.
Technicalities: A technical foul will set you back by $20, to be cleared before your next showdown. Collecting three techs in a season might lead to additional charges or time on the sidelines.
Forfeit Policy: Teams opting for a forfeit will still bear both teams' official fees for that game, unless SSA receives a 24-hour prior notice.

Get ready for the exhilarating action of Syracuse Sports Association Flag Football! Here's all the exciting details you need to know:
SSA provides flag belts, but teams are highly encouraged to purchase their own "popper" belts for an enhanced gameplay experience.
The team fee is $650, with a $50 non-refundable deposit required upon registration. The deposit will be deducted from the team fee when the balance is due.
To ensure fair play, each game is officiated by three officials and a Statistician provided by SSA. They will be paid $55.00 before the start of each game.
Starting rosters consist of 8 players, including 3 down linemen, with a maximum roster size of 20 players. These 20 players are the only ones allowed to participate during the season. In case of injuries, teams are allowed two IR roster moves, which must be coordinated with the league commissioner.
Prepare for thrilling matches with two running halves of 25 minutes each. For a comprehensive understanding of the game, please visit the flag football home page, where you can find a complete set of rules.
Show your team spirit with mandatory team shirts that feature numbers on the back. Don't forget to declare your shirt color upon registration, as colors are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Calling all Average Joe's! If you love basketball but aren't looking for a super competitive scene, this league is perfect for you. The Syracuse Sports Association's Average Joe's 5-on-5 Basketball League is all about having a blast on the court with fellow hoop enthusiasts. It's a laid-back environment where you can showcase your skills, get some exercise, and make memories with your teammates.
League Details:
Skill Level: Recreational - perfect for everyday players of all levels.
Team Size: 5-10 players per team.

Let your little slugger shine in our Monday Night 9U COED Kids Kickball League! This league is perfect for kids age 9 and under who want to have fun, stay active, and enjoy a friendly intro to team sports. 🥳
LEAGUE FORMAT:
- One 9U Division (ages 6–9)
- Coed teams of 10 players (minimum 3 girls in the starting lineup)
- Up to 15 players may kick, but only 10 play the field at a time
- 3 girls must be in both the field and top 10 of the lineup at all times

- Monday nights at AVERDI Fields @ SSA Park next to The Spinning Wheel
- Season runs June 2 – July 14 (7 total dates)

SSA Female Youth Flag Football (Grades 8–12)
Get ready for high-energy, all-action football with SSA’s Female Flag Football League — designed for girls in grades 8–12 who want to compete, have fun, and develop their game in a no-contact, fast-paced environment.
LEAGUE FORMAT:
This is a 7v7 passing-only format — no blocking, no contact, and everyone is eligible. The focus is on speed, skill, and teamwork.
UNIFORMS:
All teams must wear matching shirts with player names and numbers on the back. Shirt color must be declared at registration — first-come, first-served. You can order custom team gear through SSA’s Team Store.
LEAGUE BASICS:
Team Fee: $500 per team
Deposit: $50 non-refundable, applied to your balance
Roster: Max 16 players per team
Games: Two 20-minute running halves
Game Night: Friday nights at Clay Park South
Playoffs: Players must participate in at least 5 regular-season games to be eligible
GAME DAY DETAILS:
SSA provides basic flag belts; popper belts are highly recommended
Each game is officiated by 2 referees
Ref fees are $60 per game — each team pays $30 in cash prior to kickoff
RULES & ELIGIBILITY:

🏆 Rules Overview
We play by our usual SSA kickball rules with a few fun-tastic Cup in Hand twists!
🥤 Cup in Hand Rules
Every active player (both fielders and runners) must have a cup in hand with liquid at or above the second groove of a standard Solo cup.
SSA will provide clear cups, but players must bring their own beverages (yes, water counts!).
🧢 Gameplay Guidelines
If a player makes a play but spills below the line: The offensive player is safe.
If a player gets someone out but is caught with a cup below the line:
→ That out doesn’t count – the runner returns to the base they came from.
If a fielder drops, sets down, or hides their cup (mouth/armpit/etc.) to make a play:
→ Play is dead, and the runner is safe or advances one base.
If a fielder makes a play with no cup in hand:
→ All runners automatically advance to the next base.
If a runner’s liquid drops below the line:
→ They’re out.
Each team must assign a designated refill person to keep teammates topped off quickly and the game flowing smoothly.

🏀 About the League:
Welcome to the court, gentlemen! The Syracuse Sports Association is proud to present the Men's 5-on-5 Basketball League, exclusively tailored for the fine gents over 40. Show 'em that experience always trumps youth at the historic Legacy Gym in East Syracuse!
Team Details:
Roster Requirements: Your dream team should consist of a minimum of 5 players, maxing out at 10. Only players on your online roster are eligible to play or sub.
Uniforms: Gear up, ballers! Team shirts with numbers are mandatory. Feel free to sport your own, or grab them from our SSA store. Don't forget to declare your team color during registration.
Referee Fees: Each game requires a $55.00 fee per team, payable directly to the scorekeeper prior to tip-off.
Gameplay: Each game boasts two 20-minute halves, with the clock taking a breather under one minute in the first half and two minutes in the second.

SSA Flag Football League
Get ready for the high-energy, fast-paced action of Syracuse Sports Association Flag Football — where competition meets community.
MANDATORY UNIFORMS:
All teams must wear matching shirts with player names and numbers on the back. Shirt color must be declared at registration — first-come, first-served. You can order custom team gear through SSA’s Team Store.
League Basics:
Team Fee: $650 per team
$50 non-refundable deposit due at registration (applied to your balance)
Rosters: 8-player starting lineups (3 down linemen), max 20-player roster
Two IR substitutions allowed with league approval
Games: Two 25-minute running halves per game
Playoffs: Players must participate in at least 5 regular season games to be eligible
Game Day Details:
SSA provides basic flag belts, but "popper" belts are highly recommended for better play
Each game is officiated by 3 referees and a statistician
Officials must be paid $55 in cash prior to kickoff

- Coed teams of 10 players (minimum 3 girls in the starting lineup)
- Up to 15 players may kick, but only 10 play the field at a time
- 3 girls must be in both the field and top 10 of the lineup at all times

Syracuse Sports Association Fall Co-Ed Softball League
Get ready for a fall filled with fun and friendly competition at the Syracuse Sports Association Co-Ed Softball League!
League Details:
Format: Co-Ed (minimum of 4 females on the field at all times)
Games: 6 regular-season games followed by playoffs (all teams make playoffs)
Nights: Mondays
Location: Clay Park North
Start Time: 5:50 PM
Game Length: 7 innings or 70 minutes (no new inning after 65 minutes)
Registration:
All registration is online through the Syracuse Sports Association website.
Secure your spot: A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your team's place in the league.
Balance Due: The remaining team balance is due by the first week of games.
What We Provide:
Game Balls: The league will provide softballs for all games.
Online Tools: Schedules, standings, and rosters will be available online for easy access and tracking.
